This insert has a built in trauma pad for added blunt force protection to minimize backface deformation that can cause serious injury. Other inserts found on the internet have a trauma pad that can be purchased separately. For your protection we do not offer that option as a choice. Our ArmorCo Level III rifle plates are designed to stop 7.62x51mm NATO FMJ (U.S. Military designation M80) at a velocity of ~2780 ft/s, which is similar to the .308 round often used in hunting.
